If you have a girl that is an athlete this is NOT the place to go for two important reasons. First, my daughter dislocated her knee at camp. Dr. Koeck NEVER took her pain seriously, NEVER personally followed up, and actually stated at our last visit, "well if she was a boy, I would have put it in a cast" when explaining why he gave the cheapest most flimsy brace. He initially prescribed PT and the physical therapist recommended we see another pediatric orthopedist. Second, the office gives new meaning to the term dangerously incompetent. An x-ray that indicated a need for an MRI was ordered, performed, and sent electronically to the office on a Thursday. I called Friday insurance providers need an order from the doctor and was told the person that does that was not at work and we would have to wait until Monday. When we finally were able to see another doctor, surgery was immediately ordered to fix a torn ligament, repair scare tissue attributable to a delay in treatment, and a cyst that had formed. I could look past wait times if the standard of care was not a level below incompetent. This office has been reported to my insurance company as well. The procedure and subsequent recovery is more involved due to this office incompetence and this doctors sexist bias over solid medical knowledge.
